Ellmau is a picture perfect Tyrolean village, set in a stunning location at the base of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains it is one of the prettiest in the Alps. The facilities and skiing are excellent, Ellmau is home to Austria’s fastest and most modern funicular railway which links the local ski area with the extensive Ski Welt Circuit.

The terrain is well suited to all levels of skiers; beginners are superbly catered for with the gentle nursery slopes in the village centre; intermediates are spoilt by the 250 kilometres of piste in the Ski Welt Circuit and the more advanced will find some challenging runs both on and off piste. Boarders will find that the abundance and variety of runs make for some good carving, the gentle nursery slopes are also great for learning to board.

Ellmau has a good selection of bars, cafes and restaurants plus a couple of discos offering varied and lively nightlife. Floodlit tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides and folk evenings provide additional apres-ski entertainment in this winter-sports paradise.

Going is a small idyllic village, not far from Ellmau. It is fully linked to the Ski-Welt circut and the village itself is quite beautiful. There are several bars and restaurants, as well as an indoor swimming pool and spa, to keep one busy off the slopes.
