Alpbach ski holidays - Austria

Alpbach Description

Alpbach is a village in Western Austria in the state of Tyrol. It's renowned as one of the prettiest villages in Austria in the summer months with its traditional wooden clad buildings and flower-filled balconies. It's become one of the best-kept secrets on the market in the winter, with some good beginner and intermediate skiing.

Alpbach has always had its fans, with a core of British visitors from the military forming the Alpbach Visitors' Ski Club in the 50s. The skiing is surprisingly extensive for what appears to be a small area and it is relatively easy to get to from the main transport connections in the area.

Alpbach is one of Austria's most picturesque villages - a true winter wonderland. The skiing is excellent for beginners and intermediates, with some challenging off-piste skiing for the advanced. The sweeping ski slopes of the Alpbach area are amongst the most attractive in the Alps and you can enjoy relaxed après ski and a friendly atmosphere in the charming village centre.
