Down the hill from Soldeu, El Tarter is a newer development, but built in traditional style out of local stone. El Tarter is a quieter village than Soldeu, with good quality accommodation and the same welcoming atmosphere. The Gelski hourly bus service between Canillo and Peretol offers transport between Canillo, El Tarter and Soldeu up to midnight. Ideal conditions for skiing prevail across Austria, combining good snow with Mediterranean sunshine.

Apres Ski:
Soldeu's nightlife is lively, fun and great value, centred around two or three popular bars. El Tarter is much quieter with two discos or evenings spent relaxing in the hotel bars. In El Tarter, the Hotel Llop Gris offers a wealth of leisure facilities including swimming pool, squash courts, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. The cost of a non-resident day ticket is around £6.
